You are invited to enter the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association (BRMAA) 2018 National Juried Photography Show. The 2018 BRMAA National Juried Show is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional, and all original photographic media, including film and digital images. Cash prizes totaling $3,000, including $750 for Best of Show, will be awarded.
This national show will proudly be on display in the Richard Low Evans Gallery of the Art Center, home to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and located at the historic courthouse in Blue Ridge, Georgia from September 1st through September 29th, 2018.
The judge for this year's show is LARRY WINSLETT. Larry Winslett is an award winning nature photographer who has chronicled the natural world in many parts of the United States and Canada. His photographs have been featured in a variety of publications, such as Sierra, Wilderness, and Wild Mountain Times and can also be seen in four permanent exhibits at Stone Mountain Park. His fine art prints are also displayed in such diverse locations as Stanford University and Cox Communications, and his work has been the focus of major exhibits at Stone Mountain’s Memorial Hall Museum and the Fernbank Natural History Museum. His photos have also been used by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Dahlonega Chamber Music Festival.
Larry leads workshops and tours all over North America. He teaches photography and Photoshop at the Atlanta School of Photography in Atlanta, GA, the University of North Georgia’s Continuing Education Department in Dahlonega and Cumming, GA, and the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. He has been a frequent judge and presenter for photography at the Audubon Society, the Southeastern Flower Show, the Photographic Society of America’s international photography competition in Chattanooga, TN, and for many photography clubs around the southeast. Larry and his wife, Julie, co-authored the book Wildflowers of Stone Mountain Park. Working with the Stone Mountain Memorial Association, Larry also published Stone Mountain - a walk in the park, a book of nature scenes in the park. Both books are available at bookstores, Amazon, and the BOOKS page . Larry’s work can also be seen in numerous other books, including The Reach of Song, the Georgia Poetry Society’s 2010 anthology, and Atlanta’s Stone Mountain, a Multicultural History.
