Felix Schoeller Photo Award 2019

The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is one of the highest prize-value photographic competitions in the German-language regions. The award honors works that clearly illustrate a love of photography and exceptionally stringent demands on picture quality. As a manufacturer of special papers for high-quality photographic reproductions, the aim of our award is to honor and lend support to photographers who share our passion for uncompromisingly good photography. The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is presented every two years.

This special category invites entries for the first time in 2019. The City of Osnabrück has positioned itself as the “Friedensstadt” (City of Peace) and awards honors including the prestigious Erich-Maria Remarque Peace Prize for outstanding artistic, scientific or journalistic works. The “German Peace Prize for Photography” was initiated and is awarded in a cooperation between the City of Osnabrück and the Felix Schoeller Group. This competition is a special category within the context of the international Felix Schoeller Photo Award for professional photographers. The “German Peace Prize for Photography” honors works that conceptually interpret the topic of “Peace” by means of the medium of photography. Here, the term peace may be very broadly interpreted. For example, it may express peace between peoples, peaceful coexistence in a country or a family, or the inner peace of individuals. There are no limitations set with regard to the photographic genre. The photographs submitted could well be, for instance, journalistic works or portraits, landscapes, architecture, or freestyle/conceptual photography. The value of the cash prize is €10,000.
