Works on paper Call 2022

The Art Award of the Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler Memorial Foundation in Rockenhausen (Palatinate) will be offered in 2022 for works on paper.

The first step is to submit photographs of a maximum of 3 works by the artists, the quality of which allows an assessment of the works presented. Photos, conventionally on paper, may not exceed 24 x 30 cm including mounts. If 3 works are submitted, the jury may make a selection in each case. Digital data carriers will not be accepted.

The original dimensions of the works must be stated. Multi-part works may not exceed 200 x 200 cm each.

The winners will be selected in a multi-stage process by a jury of experts composed as follows:

* Dr. Britta E. Buhlmann, former Director of the Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern * Stefan Engel, artist & board member of APK Schweisweiler
* Prof. Hans Gercke, former director of the Heidelberger Kunstverein
* Dr. Ines M. Kelly, Foundation of Saarland Cultural Heritage
* Prof. Tina Stolt, University of Landau The prize is endowed with 10,000 €.

The award ceremony is associated with an exhibition at the Museum Pachen, Rockenhausen, which will open on 27.11.2022. The Foundation will officially award the Art Prize in this context.

The jury’s decisions are final. There is no right of appeal.

Within the framework of the prize, a promotional prize of a maximum of 2,500 € can be awarded, which then reduces the main prize accordingly.

A jury makes the pre-selection. On the basis of the preselected works, it decides on the participation in the exhibition and the prize winners.

Eligible are graduates of an art college or an art academy, members of a professional association of visual artists, who have completed their training at an art school, have exhibition or publication experience or have been continuously working in the field of visual design.
