The Nature Photography Competition
Celebrating the Beauty, Power, and Diversity of the Natural World

We are proud to introduce The Nature Photography Competition, a new photography competition created to celebrate the extraordinary beauty of the natural world and the photographers who dedicate their time, creativity, and passion to capturing it.

Nature surrounds us every day, yet a great photograph has the ability to make us stop, look closer, and see the world differently. From sweeping landscapes and dramatic coastlines to intimate wildlife portraits, delicate flowers, changing seasons, and the smallest details often overlooked, this competition is about discovering and celebrating those moments.

Our goal is to create a competition that welcomes photographers of all experience levels while maintaining a high standard of photographic excellence. Whether you are an established professional, an accomplished enthusiast, or an emerging photographer discovering your creative voice, we invite you to share the images that represent your unique vision of nature.

More Than a Photograph

We believe exceptional nature photography is about more than technical perfection. It is about story, emotion, timing, composition, light, and connection.

A successful image may transport the viewer to another place, reveal something rarely seen, communicate the character of a wild animal, or simply remind us of the beauty that exists in the world around us.

Our judges will consider the overall impact of each photograph, including creativity, composition, lighting, technical execution, originality, storytelling, and the photographer's ability to create an emotional connection with the viewer.

Competition Categories

Photographers have the opportunity to enter a variety of nature-focused categories, allowing us to showcase the incredible diversity of the natural world. Categories may include:

* Wildlife — Mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other wildlife.
* Landscape — Mountains, forests, deserts, coastlines, rivers, lakes, and other natural environments.
* Nature Up Close — Macro and intimate views of plants, animals, textures, patterns, and natural details.
* Plants & Flowers — The beauty and diversity of the botanical world.
* Weather & Atmospheric Conditions — Storms, clouds, fog, rain, snow, lightning, and other dramatic natural phenomena.
* Seasons — Images that capture the distinctive character and beauty of spring, summer, autumn, or winter.
* Conservation & The Natural World — Photography that highlights the relationship between people, wildlife, and the environment.
* Open Nature — Your interpretation of the natural world without category limitations.

Our Commitment to Photographers

As the organization behind this competition, we want the experience to be about more than simply winning an award. We want to create an opportunity for photographers to have their work discovered, appreciated, and celebrated.

We also want to build a community around the competition—one that encourages photographers to continue exploring, creating, learning, and sharing their vision.

Judging

Every submitted photograph will be evaluated on its own merits. Our judging process will focus on:

Impact — Does the photograph immediately engage the viewer?
Composition — How effectively are visual elements arranged within the frame?
Light — Does the use of natural or available light enhance the image?
Technical Quality — Is the image appropriately focused, exposed, and processed?
Creativity & Originality — Does the photograph offer a distinctive perspective?
Storytelling & Emotion — Does the image communicate a feeling, idea, moment, or story?
Overall Excellence — Does the photograph stand out as an exceptional example of nature photography?

Celebrating Every Photographer

We understand that photographers experience nature in very different ways. One photographer may spend hours waiting quietly for a particular wildlife encounter. Another may hike miles searching for the perfect landscape. Someone else may find an extraordinary photograph in a backyard, local park, or along a familiar shoreline.

There is no single definition of what makes a great nature photograph.
That is why we encourage photographers to look beyond the obvious and submit images that reflect their own experiences and creative vision.

Join Us

We invite photographers from around the world to pick up their cameras, explore the places that inspire them, and share the moments that make them stop and take notice. The Nature Photography Competition is our celebration of the photographers who help us see the natural world in new ways.

Your photograph may capture a fleeting moment, an unforgettable landscape, a remarkable creature, or a simple detail that most people would otherwise miss.
