The Room Next Door – Photography Open Call
- Deadline: 15 December 2026
- Website: https://decagongallery.com/the-room-next-door-entry
Decagon Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit to THE ROOM NEXT DOOR, a juried open call for images that bring the viewer to the edge of a space they cannot fully enter: thresholds, doorways, windows, reflections, interiors seen from outside, neighboring lives glimpsed at a distance, and staged or documentary work that invents what waits on the other side. Something should be felt more than shown; the mystery comes from what the photograph withholds.
Juror: Dr. Susan Bright, curator, art historian and writer, who has curated for Tate Britain, the National Portrait Gallery (UK) and Princeton University Art Museum.
Selected photographers receive an online exhibition (January 10 – March 10, 2027), publication in a professionally designed catalog, and digital badges and certificates.
Fees:

Prizes:
$1,000 in cash awards: First Place $500, Second Place $250, Third Place $150, two Honorable Mentions $50 each, plus a Human Presence Award (free entry to a future Decagon exhibition). Online exhibition and printed catalog for selected artists.
Eligibility:
Open to photographers worldwide; all photographic processes and styles.
