2026 Photo Contest: “250 Years of Religious Diversity”

In this semiquincentennial year, Partners for Sacred Places is holding a national photo contest to highlight the important role of churches, synagogues, meetinghouses, temples, and mosques in their local communities and United States history! The theme is “250 Years of Religious Diversity.” This is an opportunity to showcase varied religious, cultural, architectural, or artistic traditions. Amateurs and professionals alike can submit their related photos beginning Aug. 3, 2026. Learn more about the categories, prizes, and process by checking out our website.

Fees:

Free

Prizes:

$500 Grand Prize — one photo, chosen by the jury from the category winners

$200 Jury’s Choice — per category

$200 People’s Choice — per category, chosen by popular vote

Eligibility:

Photo must: have been taken within the US; fit the contest theme; have been taken within the last 5 years; relate to or feature the property of a purpose-built religious building more than 50 years old; have been taken by a human (AI-created or AI-edited photos will be disqualified). Releases must be provided for any recognizable minors in a photo. Photographers must reside within the US. Photographers may enter up to 10 photos among all categories, but may only win one prize in one category.
